How do I cast?
Swipe up from your angler. A longer swipe casts farther, out to the shallows, structure or open water. Angle the swipe slightly to aim. Each zone holds different fish.
I keep missing the hook set.
Ignore the small nibbles. When a fish really takes the lure, a ring appears and starts shrinking. Tap while it's closing. Lower difficulty settings give you a wider window.
How does the fight work?
A pad appears under your thumb. Slide left and right to keep the marker on the fish. Push up to reel and pull down to give line. Watch the tension: if it maxes out, the line snaps and you lose the lure. When a fish runs, give it line, then reel when it tires.
Why did my trip end?
Each trip starts with a few lures, and every snapped line costs one. Lose the last lure and the trip ends. You can also tap Head home any time. Either way you get a trip summary.
How do I fish at night or dawn?
The lake follows your real clock. To jump ahead, tap Rest until… on the shore and pick dawn, dusk or night. It resets to the real time on the next launch.
How do I change difficulty?
Settings → Difficulty. The slider runs from Lazy Lake to Insane and adjusts the whole fight: hook window, tension, how hard fish run and how many lures you get. The game never changes difficulty on its own.
Can I play left-handed?
Yes. Settings → Left-handed mirrors the controls.
How do I catch a trophy pike?
Legendary fish are rare by design. Fish the right zone at the right time of day, and keep the tension under control when it runs.
Progress and data
Will I lose my progress if I delete the app?
Yes. Progress is stored only on your iPhone and isn't synced to a server. Restoring a full iPhone backup can bring it back.
Does Hook Fight need internet?
No. It plays fully offline.
What is "Share anonymous play data"?
An optional summary of each trip (catches, snaps, difficulty, device model) that helps us tune the fight in future updates. It contains nothing that identifies you. It's off by default in the App Store version. Details are in the privacy policy.
Saving a catch card says it couldn't save.
Hook Fight needs permission to add photos. Go to iPhone Settings → Hook Fight → Photos and choose Add Photos Only.
